Worship the Lizyrd

Well, I guess it's about that time. I waited awhile to see if anyone would change their mind, but there were no takers. Then last week, I was wearing my 'Got Lizyrd' t-shirt to a karaoke show and some guy I didn't even know says to me, "You know they're broke up now..." Huh... No way!

Last night, a different guy told me (again at karaoke), they he couldn't wait until we played Reamstown again and that he was bringing a bunch of his buddies... yeah... great... Well about that...

So here I am, giving everyone who doesn't already know, the bad news...

Dizzy Lizyrd is no more...

Yeah it's over, and before you ask - yes, it sucks too. Trust me, you don't want the details in all their subjective horror, so I'll leave it at that.

Anyway, I'll keep this flag planted here to inform everyone who doesn't yet know what's up... At least until the domain name expires.

Until then, I'd like to thank the fans, ex-Lizyrds and Lizyrdettes for all their help and encouragement over the years. It's hard to stay mad when you remember all the good times you know? Dizzy Lizyrd was the first real live band I've been in, and we sure did kick some ass, didn't we? Say what you want about what went down at that last gig (actually, DON'T - quite enough has been said), but damnit, we rocked! Most of our shows were something to be proud of. On top of all that, we made a demo that memorialized a song I wrote 15 years ago. It sure was something to hear that come to life after all those years - thanks guys.

Anyway, I've said my piece, and to be honest, there's not much more to say. In a few weeks or months (I don't remember), the site hosters will reroute you to something else entirely. How's that for finality?

But should one of you guys out there want to address the crowd before then, I'd be glad to post it here - you know how to find me...

You hold the door, I'll get the lights, great gig guys, great gig...

P.S. A certain Lizyrdette asked me to make some changes to the original text as apparently it was a bit 'harsh' and 'bitter'. Yeah, well... Ok...  :)
